How does the ESOAR framework work?
The framework consists of 5 phases: Elimination, Standardization, Optimization, Automation and Robotization.
Elimination removes unnecessary and non-value-adding process steps from the processes. You do this by using root cause and performance analyses to search for process weaknesses, waste, and non-standardization. You should find and remove unnecessary steps so that no resources flow into the automation of irrelevant process steps.
The lean business processes are then standardized. In this phase, repetitive processes are aligned and standardized. This improves productivity and overall process quality, while reducing costs for process execution and special system configurations.
Optimization is the third phase of the ESOAR framework. The existing system processes are improved with the help of the analysis results and through the restructuring of workflows. For example, you can optimize performance (throughput times, throughput rates) or organizational processes. In addition, you can better integrate existing tools and systems. This increases the performance of system processes and productivity with existing resources.

Subsequently, in the automation phase, solutions for process automation within the existing systems, but not at the user interface level, are evaluated and tested. This phase is not necessarily about RPA, but about finding the best possible automation solution. By automating processes, you reduce or even eliminate manual work. The final phase of the ESOAR framework is robotization. In contrast to the previous phase, this phase deals with automation at the user interface level using RPA. Thanks to RPA, you can automate the remaining manual, repetitive and rule-based tasks that are not automated by the software itself.
